Training

General Training

In addition to our monthly meeting, the London Search and Rescue team also trains on the third Wednesday of every month. Training is typically held at the St. John Ambulance building, unless otherwise specified at a meeting. Members are expected to attend 80% of training.

Some of our typical training nights include: map work, reviewing search techniques, searcher safety, GPS navigation, first aid and CPR review, Notebooks and Note taking, Rappelling, Rock Climbing, Shelter Management, Radio Protocols and Usage.

Additional Training

Throughout the year, London Search and Rescue members will also complete First Aid and CPR training in addition to search training as mandated by OSARVA (Ontario Search and Rescue Volunteer Association). This training allows us to maintain search skills that can be utilized across Canada.
